Hi all,

Does anyone know what colours the S4 were made in? I have looked on here using the search function.

So far I have found the following:

Noggy Blue
Silver - not sure if there are different shades?
Aquarius? - Is this Cactus Green?
Volcano Black
Ebony Black
Red - Not sure if it's Amulet or Misano or another?
Yellow
Ming Blue
Purple - Not sure what it's know as.

I am off looking at S4's this weekend, one I am looking at later today is described as Aquarius, I like the colour but I am not sure that is it's proper name?

Thanks...

If anyone has the official list of colours I would appreciate it.

KayGee,

Thanks for the reply.

The car I went to look at yesterday was described by the owner as Aquarius, which to be honest I'd not heard of and on the log book it says the colour is blue? Therefore I was expecting it to be more of a blue shade. On viewing the car my first thoughts were that it's Cactus Green which I have heard of so it looks like the owner was right and me also! That seems to have cleared that up!

Does colour play an important part in resale values of the S4? If so, which are the best and which are the worst?

I think the resale value is pretty much un changed despite colour, however when I was looking I only wanted Misano, Ming, Ebony or Silver.
I guess it's down to personal choice.

However Aquarius or Imola def. weren't on the list. Couldn't face a car that colour with a hangover! I suspect it might play a part in the speed of the sale more than the price. By limiting numbers of prospective buyers.

Nogaro seems the most popular colour, seems like Ferrari's should be red and fast Audi's should be Nogaro in some owners views...not mine

P.S The Noggy lot are very vocal as well....

Cheers for the fast reply.

Do you know of any links where you can see the colour differences on the car itself?

How many keys should the S4 come with? If it has any missing are they easily replaceable? I know at least one of the keys is programmable, so if lost would Audi be able to supply a duplicate?

Sorry for all the questions, but any answers are appreciated.

No idea on sites,

Should come with two, an less looking at £200 discount. Audid stealers are keen on new keys. £100 for new key, £50 for program + £50 coz we can

The car I looked at came with the main key and a thin "skeleton" key, does this count as two? But if for 100 pounds a new one can be done, then it's not too bad.

Thanks.

Mine came with 2 full keys, a valet key (that cannot undo the glovebox) and the thin plastic skeleton key.... so it should come with 4 keys in total.

Mmmm that's what I thought. Not too sure now whether the one I went to look at is what I am after, it only has one full key and the skeleton key, no leather, but is really low mileage, it also has 18 in RS4 alloys, but I think I prefer the originals as it sits too high on the 18 in alloys and it looks like if I were to lower it the tyres would catch on the arches? I would probably look to swap the RS4 alloys for standards if I bought it.

Its worth waiting for what you really want.... and leather is nice, especially if your fortunate enought to get one will Recaro Silver Silk Nappa seats.... Why Audi changed these is beyond me......

Sounds like the alloys were possible meant for a TT or Golf, sounds like the wrong offset if there sticking out too much...

And you must makesure you have the 4 keys + the little plastic tag with the key code......

Just one word of warning I have a Ming Blue S4 and it get dirty so fast and shows annoying hairline scratches......

I heartily agree. Ming Blue is a nightmare to keep clean. One rainshower and it looks filthy!! If I had the choice again I would go for silver with black leather. Best colour combo if you dont want to be cleaning it forever!!

Gav,

I think you are right with regards to the alloys, they did stick out too far. I asked if they knew the offset but they weren't sure. No leather and it's in Aquarius (Cactus Green) which I quite like, but the mileage is so low, so it's very tempting. I might be going to view a Noggy Blue 99T with Silk Silver leather, it has higher mileage but is much better specced. There are a few worrying stories about turbos letting go at around the 70k miles mark, so ideally one with lower mileage is desirable....but we'll see!

It is a worry, the turbo thing, as my car has now just done 69,000 miles but I think you only ever hear of the problem stories, I think there are probably plenty of S4's over 70k's running orginal turbos......

It is scary tho how much it costs to have the work done when they do go.....

Thats why I like the idea of the new S4

Noggy Blue was my second choice with Blue/Black Interior but a Ming Blue car came up real close to me and it had everything on it except heated seats (who cares, thats how you get piles).

I have had turbo'd cars in the past so I am pretty good at detecting problematic ones and like you say there are probably plenty out there with no probs at all. My last car was non turbo so I didn't have that worry, but being a Cerbera I had other things to worry about! It was actually a superb car with no mechanical breakdowns at all!

I'll probably hold out for one with a lowish miles and desirable colour combo.
