Has anyone got a AWE Tuning, drive train stabliser fitted to their car, if so does it make any significant differance?
I got one unfitted with my car and am deciding over wether to fit it or not
Cheers Jim

For some people, it's not noticable. For myself, it made a noticable difference and I also have the APR snub mount installed. I hated the tranny slop. DTS and Snub cleared it up. Shub mount provides some of the same benefits and they are about $50.00.
DonP performed some tests on his vehicle using a DTS and Snub mount.
Take a Look.

Thanks, considering the APR snub mount myself for $50 seems like good value, anyone tried the RS4 mounts in comparison?

Thanks Richard
When I get some spare time i'll fit the DTS and let you all know the results.

HI
I had the AWE stabiliser fitted by AMD a couple of weeks ago and I must admit it is one of the best mods I have had on my car. The whole car feels stiffer and is definitely more confident at high speeds and somehow it tracks better too.....I had the pleasure of driving up through Germany last week on the Autobahn
But it also makes gear changes so much smoother and if you have a short shifter it makes the box feel more tight and sporty as it removes the sloppy and somewhat loose feeling when changing up or down and you can relly feel the short throw.

I have the snub mount. Sat on my desktop. I got it for my previous S4 but it never arrived until after I'd sold it. I was half thinking about fitting it to my sloppy RS4. But if I've understood KayGee correctly he is suggesting the RS4 has a different engine mount. - Anyone care to confirm?

From AmD's WebSite its £280.00 + Vat supply and £340.00 fitted + Vat. I think its good value.

I'd recommend it, it gives a noticeably better gearshift that a shortshifter alone and certainly reduces the 'rubber banding' in the transmission when going on an off the throttle or gearchanging.
It reduces the ground clearance slighly as it's lower than the standard gearbox brace. My car is lowered and it does scrape occasionally.
Pretty cheap too - relatively.

Fitted the DTS a couple of weeks ago, my verdict -
Fitting - Simple bolt on job, anyone with a good socket set and a bit of common sense could have this on in less than an hour. However due to sods law mine came with the wrong gearbox bracket (the possible reason why it was never fitted to the car), abit of careful measuring and two new holes soon had it on.
Perfomance - Ground clearance hasn't been a problem so far, it hangs about the same height as the plastic engine guard. Driving wise, the slight gearbox movement when hard on and off the gas in first gear has been eliminated, but apart from that i can't really tell any differance. Maybe its me but gearchange, stability and stiffness all seem the same as before.
Conclusion - Its certainly a good looking well made piece of kit and a nice addition to the car but don't expect any major transformations.

Hi Jim,
Glad you managed to fit it, I did'nt know it had the wrong gearbox bracket, just never got round to fitting it, but hey it came FREE with the car so you cant have any complaints there. How is she running anyway?
Cheers

Hi Tombs
I'm not complaining, i just wouldn't like to have pulled £280 out myself for it.
The cars going as well as ever, no problems so far (touch wood) booked it in for the 60k service next week. Good to see your still on the forum

s4orce2001 - Have you encountered any problems running both the snub and DTS?
