New Member - A few questions

Right, I'll have another go as just wrote something and some how managed to loose it!

I've recently joined the site and must say from what I have seen so far I have been very impressed.

I purchased a 98 (S) S4 Saloon in September last year, and have now done 10k miles (however it only had 20K on when I bought it!). It's completely standard but I'm still well happy with it!

I have a few questions which I hoping some of you out there can help with:

1. Peeling interior Door handles - I have black leather with blue alacantara trim, which means it comes with blue door handles. These handles appear to have been coated in a rubbery material which is now peeling of the front ones. Has anyone else had this and come up with a solution. I don't really want to fork out for a new pair if the same thing is going to happen, and also don't fancy taking the door trims off. I was thinking of getting something to try and recover them like Solatec. Any thoughts? Seems like VW still have this problem as I looked at a new beetle for a friend the other day and that had a simular problem after just 10K miles.

2. Air Filter - I am looking to keep the car pretty much standard but would like to replace the standard air filter with a performance filter ( don't want to get an induction kit). Can anyone recomend one as I've seen nothing advertised?

3. Headlamp Protectors - I'm sure that Audi will quite happily charge me a small fortune to replace a Xenon Headlamp, so I'm looking to fit headlamop protectors, but again haven't seen anything advertised. Can anyone recomend some or know where I can get some? Do Audi make any?

4. I noticed on the Sticky section of this forum 2 seperate power outputs are quoted, what's the reason for this and how can I tell which one I have? I've done a timed standing quarter mile (14.3 secs and 0-60 in 5.6secs at GTI international) which seemed pretty good to me, so I'd guess I have the higher one!

Anyway that's enough questions for now, hope to hear from some of you soon.

Thanks

Lewis

2: This will give you no performance advantage whatsoever. I can go into the reasons if you wish, but I can assure you that it will be a waste of money.

3: The headlamps are about £250 each.

4: US version of the S4 was detuned.
