Has anyone replaced the front bumber etc with the RS4 front end???

I just think that the outlets on the side of the RS4 look err cool and I was think about trying to get it done to my S4.

i have seen it on an A3, you just have to cut a section out of the middle as the flared arches make the bumper wider overall

so it can be done

search audiworld in the US as i think a guy there has done it

It would look good, especially with some RS4 intercoolers.

Go on Jeff.

It's the cutting in half bit that has me worried....

I get sucked into things like this.....I once decided that it would look if I fitted the tear-drop Cup mirrors to my Porsche 944 Turbo...2nd hand mirrors where aquired for £300 then they where painted £75 then I needed the 968 mounts....etc....etc. Ended up with some £600 mirrors !!!!

From achtuning.com

RS4 front bumper kit
THis kit includes the front bumper, grills, fogs, washers, mounting hardware. This will fit on an A4 or S4. Some very minor work is needed to get it to fit perfect. The end result is worth it! $1295 (shipping included)

Shipping to the UK in the price ?

Jeff,

vagparts have it on their website for £ 525.

Looks superb on that car, much more modern that the S4 bumper.

Thw front wings look standard though so I am wondering what is involved in fitting because the RS4 has wider wings - Josh ?

It is possible to fit a standard RS4 bumper according to a guy on the Audi world web site he includes pictures of his S4 with a standard RS4 front bumper on it.

http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/736834.phtml

How he managed to do it, quote: "I came up with an idea for the to try putting some spacers in the front bumper mounts to pull the bumper out another 1/4 inch or so. That released the tension in the bumper (no dimples!) and caused it to also fit up flush with the fenders!! Pretty simple fix to the problem eh?"

When trying to find this again I found a massive amount of info on this. Just do a search on RS4 Bumper or RS4 fender.

There is also some good artles in technical/model specific/exterior section. One on the correct alingment of the front bumber. I had exactly the same experience as this guy when I had my front bumper replaced. (The previous owner hit a high kerb - honest!) My local Audi/VAG/BMW dealership bodyshop made a complete arse of painting and fitting not only the bumber but a new rear spoiler I had them fit. If I had read this page I'd have gone to town on them. They tried 4 times until they got both the paint and bumper to my satisfaction. Anyway, the links are:
