AA's Warranty

Post by jonno1 » Thu Jan 29, 2004 5:09 pm

Does anyone have any experience of the AA's warranty? They seem pretty reasonably priced at £409 for a year for my S4 Avant 2000 "W".

Thanks

What does it include?
Is there a maximum claim limit or number of claims?

Check out http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/warra ... tions.html

£5,000 limit for any one claim but from a quick read I couldn't see a limit on the maximum number of claims permitted

I have a warranty on my 80k mile S reg S4 for £520 with Warranty Direct, which covers the turbos too. From what I've read, they have a good reputation.

And the Warranty Direct policy covers wear and tear to a certain extent.

I just paid 350 for a premium policy from Warranty wise
(WHA - do a lot of manufacturer schemes i.e. Ford). This
covers 4*4, turbos, wear and tear (because my car has done
92K I have to pay 40% of the replaced parts - still not
bad though) and main dealer labour rates (upto a 60 squids
an hour). Haven't tried to claim yet though......

Anybody have any experience of these?

Cheers,

£60 an hour for a main dealer ?
Seems bloody cheap... I assume you mean an Audi main dealer

Ner. Unfortunately that is the most that Warranty Wise will
pay for a labour rate (2 * National average labour rate.).
You can increase this to £80 I think but that increases your
premium as well. You don't have to use one of their
'approved garages' so this will cover AMD's labour charges
(for now! - someone has to pay for that plasma screen).

The policy 'seems' pretty good but as already said I
haven't tried to claim yet. Audi wanted £900 for a year
which didn't even cover wear and tear.
