Which alloy?

Post by sash » Fri Jan 23, 2004 12:31 pm

Guys,
Looking for some suggestions for alloys to go onto an s4. Ideally 18's, does anyone have any suggestions or pics of a b5 s4 with 18's. I may in the future upgrade the brakes so need an alloy that can fit with the porsche brakes on.
Does anyone know what the rs6 alloys look like on an s4 (silver)
I also am concerned about the wheel weight and dont want wheels any heavier than the standard ones.

I also have 2 s4 standard alloys for sale.

Don't the 993 type brakes fit the standard wheels? I think the 993 had 17 inch wheels. Maybe, you just want to change the wheels anyway.

With the ECS rotors, it will fit your wheels.
I am on the same dilema, up grade or not my wheels.
the best looking ones of me are
Sportec (arond 26 lbs) www.supremepowerparts.com
Oz supperleggera ( around 17 lbs) www.ozwheels.com
RS 6 replicas (around 29 lbs)
BBS CHs (around 19 lbs)

I guess I am going with the CHs. It will be easier to sell in the future.

I have 19" RS6 replicas on a B5 S4. Looks fab. Have no pics but can take some when it returns from the garage (again). I have had 18" BBS on previously and they looked great as well.

BBS are my first choice at the mo, either the RX or LM.

Would love to see some pics of the RS6 alloys as well though. Do you get wheel rub with those 19s?

What colour s4 you got and what BBS did you have S4RS4?

I borrowed the BBS until I got my 19's so not sure which they are. They came off the Dialynx TT Bullett. I will post pics of both on my car soon. It is Azure Blue (I think that's what they call it). See separate post on my 19" wheel rubbing problems.

Update: I just uploaded pics of the BBS alloys on the S4 to the gallery. Look in recent uploads.

They are BBS Challenge wheels, and IMO look fantastic. I tried to get some of those, but got let down at the last minute

Not bad, you do have a big choice, I have 19's on mine (MTM) with no problems at all, no rubbing, feels more surefooted and gives a firm ride. Just expensive if the you have a puncture you cant repair, at a push you can get a 19" MTM wheel in the spare space.

Tombs, Nice wheels. Damn, i didnt think you could get 19's on the s4 without some well bashing.
Will the following dimesion wheel fit on the s4:
5 by 112, 8.5Jx18H2 ET20
I've seen some rs4's on ebay for sale, may go for them if they fit as they are quite cheap.
I really want to see some BBS alloys on a silver s4 before i make any decisions though as they are my faves.

With an 8.5" wheel, the most agressive offset for the S4 is ET35. ET20 will stick outside of the wheelarch. Look at my S4 pics with the BBS on to see the ET35 8.5" x 18"

S4RS4, thanks for that. I want those BBS CH, well either those or the RCs.

So if i go for some 18" alloys, 18 * 8.5 ET35 is the best fit in your opinion (i dont want any rubbing)?

Im running on RS4 suspension, i hope that doesnt make a difference.
