The best i ever got form my old S4 no mods was 22 mpg, and i live out in the sticks. So 18 mpg around town seems pritty normal to me. the joys of owning a performance car, i would buy shares in shell, bp ect.

Perhaps the 400Hp conversion is actually more efficient / economical?
I agree with Jeff and I could expect 27-28MPG on a long gentle (80MPH) motorway cruise with my KO4'd S4 which I thought was very good.
Not sure if this is a mechanical issue - checking the usual components may identify the problem but next time you take a long motorway journey try resetting the DIS and see what you get.

When i had my S4 i was getting around 18 - 19mpg.
I took two trips to the dealer and there was no fault. There are two other post on here about the same topic. Have a look at them and they might shed some light. (search for miles per tank part 1 and 2)

Overall average with APR S4 is about 22mpg, which i guess equals 25ish on motorways and 18ish in town.

with MTM sees 24mpg round town and 30mpg at 85 motorway - no cruise - avoid using cruise as it uses full throttle on resume!!

i've now done about 100 miles on this tank and i've been driving so slow, like a taxi driver, taking it easy, both in town and out on the dual carriageway. my 'miles left in tank' says 65 my average speed is 26 and my average mpg has gone down to 14!! and it is currently sat at 14.4!! there must be something wrong here, its never been this bad, even if i give it some!! could it be a faulty MAF? how can i find out? HEEELLLPPPPPP!!!!!

your average speed is 26mph?? that's part of your problem mate. you must be doing loads of town driving and not enough B road/motorway driving to get your mpg up.
