I have the same sort of light shunt when coming off throttle. It's normally when it's light throttle & the turbo's are starting to boost, best described as a clunk but a movement thing rather than a sound. AFAIK it's pretty normal & is the transmission slop in the car, possibly fixed by an ADS or snub mount?!

The oily gunge I think is something to do with the crankcase recirculation system. The biturbo engine has a ventilated crankcase and any fumes produced are introduced into the air intake path and burnt in the engine.

This oily air from the crankcase can in time result in a buildup of gunk on the TBB and also the DVs (mine were a bit gungey when I changed them last year, same is true of my TBB when I inspected it.

I don't think it is anything to be concerned about

FYI the 'f' hose is part of the crankcase ventilation system, and like the TBB is one of the weak-points of the car. Audi redesigned the engine for later models and so the 'f' hose was no longer needed. (I only found this out recently).

I can confirm. It's not unusual to find a film of oil in the TBB. Infact as Geof at AMD informed me it is one basic way of establishing whether the TBB has ruptured as the oil will leak out. However, this is not a reliable method of confirming a ruptured TBB just a first pass.
