Unpleasant surprise.

Just got up to find my S4 sitting on 4 bricks:

Staying with friends in Yorkshire near to Holmfirth.

It seems it is fairly common for the thieving scum to come out of Manchester and collect a few sets of wheels.

Got my crime reference number, but other than that I seem pretty stuck. Audi Assistance can't help. My insurance company is closed until Monday. Suppose I will go to the nearest Audi dealer when they open, but it will just be the sales guys on Sunday I'm sure.

Oh joy.

Bummer, and there was me thinking Holmfirth was a nice quiet wee place!

Did they overcome the audi locking wheel nuts?

I supposed on a positive side, if you had standard wheels and worn tyres, a good excuse to get nice alloys and fresh rubber...

I thought a little village outside Homefirth was pretty safe too.

New alloys Tyres were new Toyo's though.

And what was my excess....

Anyone know Privilege Insurance's 24 hour helpline... I can only find the claim line number that is shut on Sundays.
Their website isn't much help.

Thanks Mo,
And Paul

Suffered British Rail (Virgin actually) last night. 4 hour trip home with wife and kids. Serves me right for not having my driving licence with me.

No idea yet when my car will be returning. Not sure if there is any damage done that I couldn't see.

Bad luck David. Makes me glad that I've stuck with my original Avus wheels - which look rather 'used' now.

Hi Dippy,

Mine were well used Avus wheels too!

Sod's law was that the best 2 were facing the road.

Still haven't got my car back.

Privilege/Directline not covering themselves in glory.

Car now has wheels, but they forgot to order the centre caps. My guess is Wednesday to get the car back.

Regret increasing my voluntary excess, although over the last few years I am well ahead.

Ah well - now you can look forward to some nice new ones!

To be even more honest - now that I have protected NCD and low XS, I wouldn't be that upset if mine were stolen!

I once came back from holiday to find my BMW on bricks - it made the local paper as apparently 4 other BMWs had their wheels taken the same night...

Its funny how bad the car looks on bricks - the alloys really make the look of a car, bit like a bad/decent haircut on a person!

Welcome to the club!
With mine they put the bricks in too far so they have bent the floor. It is a sorry way to see your car for sure!

Thanks Dog, not a club we wanted to be members of...!

Interesting (!) reactions from people. One woman at worked laughed like a drain.

Think I have been relatively lucky. The car was propped up by blocks under 3 jacking points.

Car is due back this afternoon. Not very happy as this has taken my insuirance company 12 days to sort out. Waited a couple of days for centre caps which they forgot to order.

It will be nice to have new wherels, except I will have to endure the pain and upset when they first get kerbed!

David, I am prepared to spare you that pain.

Lets swap you new set for my old (or as I prefer to call them 'pre-kerbed') set and we need say no more about it.
