Nice car, I wonder if it belongs to anyone here.....

Trust me, the car is awesome! I've been overtaken by it on many an occasion.

Looks a good price to me - assuming that the mods are not 65,000 miles old as well!

It does look very cheap to me.

Not a good sign for anyone considering mods to an S4 is it ?

I think it also suggests that mods which can be removed and sold separately such as brakes and suspension are a better bet than engine related ones.

Let's face it, when you mod a car you don't really care that much about resale, you just want to make the car better!

True, I suppose the best advice is to divide the cost of the mods by how long you plan on keeping the car and decide if it represents value for money.

If it's the car I think it is, then the box has recently been rebuilt.

Hi everyone - enjoying boiling hot weather here in Majorca and have just got onto the net to catch up on all the news.Actually the car is priced about right - Glass´s Guide say the car is worth 11,500 pounds in excellent nick = then even taking the mods off I´d have got nowhere near what Fontain ofered me. Seems that in the last month or so the prices have really dropped. Hated letting it go but after a meting with the company I was remined about the car policy which states that cars need to be replaced after 4 years. Question now is what to get next - any suggestions?

Hi Ian,

Majorca in August, nice.

I was starting to think you could not be named as the previous owner of this extra special S4 !

Sounds like a good price then. I'd suggest an RS4 next, but what do I know

I think the new car has to be less than a year old when purchased, so an RS4 is out.

Assuming that RS6 is too pricy, I reckon M3.
Or what about a nice cheap A4 avant 1.9tdi or similar (could even chip it) and then spend the change on a hot hatch perhaps an EVO or scooby, I'd even be tempted by a Seat Leon Cupra R and then mod that (it's the S3 engine so should be good for 300bhp without too much effort)

just my 2p

One of the attractions of the M3 is that, possibly apart from brakes the car does (or should not) need suspension mods and indeed the performance is still up there with a standard RS4. Had a go in France with an M3 and frankly is was surprised by the mid range punch and accelleration to 130. If I got an S4 4.2 I´d be across to AmD every couple of months and my bank account would be the worse for it. The RS6 is a possibility but I´d have to remortgage the house (again ) or sell the kids into slavery to get one. The good or bad thing about being on holiday is that I have been pondering the options and driving myself mad in the process. Back at the weekend though.
