Hot Hot Hot

With temperatutres and humidity soaring at the moment has anyone noticed anything untoward in the power / butt dyno department?

Must say that I was expacting mine to behaive like a sow but actually I haven't experienced and perceptable performance shortfall.

Mine has been feeling a little sluggish on the journey home from work. OK on the way in at 06:30 in the morning, 19 degrees, but definitely sluggish at 16:30, 32 degrees

I think this is expected with most turbo-charged cars with air-intercoolers...... [img]images/graemlins/24430-audibash.gif[/img]

Obviously this sort of weather is going to have a detrimental effect on performance - I think in my case I tend to use the car during the day and hence there is no early morning benchmark.

Not sure of the effect larger intercoolers have but I think this may be a factor too.

Larger intercooler should in theory lower intake temp`s and help on the powerside...... maybe the hoses/pipes from the intercoolers to the turbo and too hot?

|Just got back from 42 degrees in Spain and not a Turbo in sight, only M3/M5 there normally aspirated and Diesels seem to sell out there.

I notice a slight difference up here in Scotland. We've seen some record high temps for us 28DegC. T

he other night we were back down to 11.5 Deg C. and the car was noticebly crisp.

I did a track day at Bedford Autodrome yesterday and suffered big time from heat-soak (outside air temp was 22.5 deg) Removed the fogs and front covers to see if that helped, but didn't notice much improvement. Had 4 laps in an RS6 (but that's another story).

On the way home (14deg) the car was stonking - pulling like never before - damn, why couldn't it have been like that on the track ?
