Bailey DV's

Hi all

My car came fitted with Bailey DV's when i purchased it just over a year ago.

I took them appart at the weekend to give them a clean, when i took them appart i notice quite a bit of wair so i turned them in a lathe and fitted steel inserts to get a good seal again.

The question that i have is, are they fitted the correct way around. In my mind it looks as though pressure from the cool side of the turbo would open the valves due to their current orientation. This does not seem right.

I dont have a picture of my valves but i have found this one that shows them fitted the oposite way to mine.

Can anyone help

They are fitted back to front from std, however there has been a lot of debate on which way around is best - here's a good web page to help you make your own mind up.

Good Luck

I'm not sure why there's a debate for 1.8T owners, it seems fairly obvious to me which way they should be fitted. Assuming that your Bailey's have the same orientation as the Forge type, they are the wrong way round. This is because forced air could push against the piston and open it slightly causing a recirculation leak.
