Picked up my S4

Post by Carps » Sat May 17, 2003 6:01 pm

So, I finally picked up my S4 today !
Wow ! It puts a big smile on my face as soon as I turn the key. It seems even faster than when I test drove it, and I still haven't really gunned it yet. Got a fuel consumption of 31.2mpg on the way back which included country lanes and motorway (about 50 miles) which wasn't as catastrophic as I thought it was going to be. I guess that'll change somewhat as I get 'keener'

I'm off to get my Tanoga shifter fitted on Tuesday, and maybe find out about some suspension to lose that gap.

One question about how warm before you open it up - I read somewhere to wait until the second mark on the oil temp gauge. Mine never get there - it only just goes over the 80 degree marker (or is this what is meant by the second mark ?)

Thanks everyone for the advice over the last couple of weeks. I'm sure I'll be back for more soon (H&R ? )

Good for you.

I suspect the fuel consumption will increase as you get used to the car

If you check what the oil temp is after 15 minutes driving (when you know it is warm) then wait till it reaches that point each time before you start to 'use' the performance, you probably won't go far wrong.
