B5 S4 Purchase

Post by mint_no1 » Mon Sep 05, 2016 2:50 pm

I have been looking at a B5 S4 which doesn't have paperwork for a cambelt/waterpump etc. change the only thing I can find is a auxillary belt change at approx. 80k car is now on 138k. It does have full service history and had a clutch/flywheel change in it's history along with paperwork from the last owner of 5k. I have been out in the car, not driven, and it has some cosmetic issues but drives well no unusual noises etc. Am I mad considering it? Cheers Gareth

Guess it depends on
price?
are you planning of getting the cam belt done?
With no absolute proof of the cambelt being done its overdue by 18k,so i would use it as a bargaining tool obviously depending on purchase price.

Under 3k, I would get the cam belt done, possibly myself if it is viable or a recommended specialist
