And another spanner, I thought the E36 evo had 320bhp.

Anyway, I am bored of all this BMW talk now. The fact remains Audi's will always be better in all respects, end of!

I did say 340ish as I was not sure :-P

But yes - there is a reason I drive an S4 and not an M3 - an equiv M3 would have been cheaper than my S4 - yet I still chose the S4 :-D

My stage 1 S4 will eat an E46 M3 (and did) in real world driving, he even told me that he was impressed and I quote "....there is not much thats gets away from this car" - referring to his M3. My Std S4 comfortably muched a 280bhp E36 3.0 in every gear in France a few years ago, myself and mate side by side on the continent in various gears....

Standard S4 and Standard E36?

Whats the scenario there.

Reading this most, theres seems to be 2 different opinions.

I was told standard M3 E36 has 321 BHP. and with two wheel drive and no loos of power to distribution of 4 wheels, should leave a standard S4 behind right?

e36 M3 is 3.0 286Bhp, 14.3 1/4 mile.
M3 evo is 3.2 litre and 321 bhp and 14 dead for 1/4 mile.

Std S4 is 14.3 1/4 mile. Stage 1 should knock that down to mid to high 13s. Stage 2 should be low to mid 13s and stage 3 should be high 12s.

S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke

F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy

Well at some stage on an airstrip I came across an M3 E46.

A few tries and I had the following results:

80 onwards I pulled about a cars length, come 120-130 he gained a bit
Again about 80 onwards as I got towards the top of 5th gear he started gaining, once I hit 6th we sat again
A final try similar to above till I was in 6th and I started pulling on him again, by 140 I was realing him in.

I am now confident from a standing start I should be able to hold back an M3 from standing start - 150!

I am Stage 2+ with an MTM chip, Miltek catback & gutted pre-cats.

Finally have a true real world representation of my cars ability - NICE!

Gawd my english was terrible... try again...

1. Rolling start from 80 I pulled a car length he started to gain on me come 120-130ish - we braked.
2. Rolling start from 80 (he got the jump) we sat even till I got to the top of 5th gear... he gained on me till I hit 6th we then sat even - 135-140 we braked.
3. Rolling start from 80 (me behind - he got the jump) he pulled gently till I hit 6th and I then realed him in

I think it is safe to say - if you drive the car in the torque band the S4 certainly has the edge.

My car was fully loaded with one passenger & boot full of bags, bedding etc - car with LOADS of audio equipment & dynamat. I was also running on BP Ultimate which (IMO) is one of the worst fuels to use.
