How many are interested?

Any chance of getting a group buy together? 18'' Ultras and the Toyos.

Some of the lighweight BBS wheels have a restriction to the amount of power.
The new CX R wheel has a up to 240 hp restriction.

Would the Italians in the OZ factory be forthcoming with this type of info?

What? A BHP restriction on wheels? That is the first I have ever heard such a thing.
Sounds like a load of crap IMO. How can the BHP of the car have any bearing on the wheel? Surely there is things like tyre flex, which wheels are actually being driven etc to take into account rather than just sticking an arbitrary 240bhp limit on them

Incidently they list cars such as the RS4, RS6, S8, Phaeton, SLK 55AMG, Z4 on their site as cars to put the CX wheels on...all of which I believe are above that 240bhp limit.

I recently ordered a set of the new CX wheels with The BBS factory in Germany for a customer who had a new S5.

The reply from the factory was as follows

"The wheels won't fit Audi S5 if the car has got more than 176 kw
176 kw is equal to about 240 horse powers. A very strong engine.

With best regards,

BBS International GmbH"

I did not know this until I was advised. Some companies may still supply if the exact vehicle fitment is not specified as time of order

Have a think about the loadings torque etc of a 600 hp car would give compared to a 150 hp car.

However it does suggest these wheels will be suitable on the BBS website, something I will bring up with them on Wednesday when I visit the factory.

Yeah sorry Phil, was not anything aimed at yourself, just seems a really odd thing for them to say IMO, I have never yet heard of such a thing and seems contrary to what they say on their site.

Just returned from the BBS factory this last night.
The factory is as expected very impressive the attention to detail is exceptional.

So an update, looks as if the wires were a bit crossed, the CX wheel is in fact TUV approved for the S5 and other similar power cars.

There are only some weight restiction to the aftermarket road wheels. Some of the specific motorsport wheels have power restriction but these are not sold for road use.

So I was talking bollocks not for the first time.................

It depends which "British" muck you have been drinking. Some of it is just full of crap additives which I am sure contribute to it...or at least that's my excuse LOL.

Also don't the Germans serve beer in smaller glasses but more of them?

I can drink Becks till my bladder is the size of a small planet and never get a bad head. OTOH I can drink 2 pints of Stella and feel like my brain has been washed in Ajax and caustic soda ...

I "buckled" and have opted for the CH's. I just hope they look as good as the 19's. I am thinking once I raise the suspension the car wont look as good as it did, but lets hope it handles better. Can look at ultra's at a later date once I have seen them in the flesh on another car.

Cheers,
