How did the other Audi's get on ?
Doug 193
Jarv 177
Dace 175
W8PMC ?
Daybar 164

Three other B7 RS4's. I know one guy (Zorba) managed 172. All did really well against some stiff opposition.

I can't believe I am about to post this so please - don't turn it into a burn the Stigter outcome, but:

What happens at 193 mph when a tyres lets go or some other failure in an s4 or rs4?

Ah so Daybar got 164 eh. Well then a return visit is in order, I can't be pipped like that!

@ Doug - what gearbox do have in the car? At what rpm were your 193 runs and did it have more to give?

Same as when a tyre lets go in any other car at 193. You crash and probably die.

Realistically I guess Doug might have been a few mphs over his speed rating.

Must we wierd having the car so far beyond where the speedo stops. Did you have anything GPS on board so you had an idea before you saw the boards?

I best GPS was really lagging at those speeds. With a laser reading of 163 my GPS was reading 159 and I guess it only gets worse the faster you go.

What a blast yesterday was! Thanks Doug for all the goes in the car!

IIRC I did 7 runs - 5 were 193 and 2 were 192. Pretty consistant. You were doing 191/192 until I suggested an early upshift at 6800 and then you did 2 193's in a row! Awesome!

I beat that Lambo straight after Doug did and then the guy went home straight after! He was doing 182's! Looking at the specs of the Murci it's supposed to have a 205mph top speed and 570bhp - so I don't think he was trying as hard as he might have been (could be wrong).

I aint going to bother taking my RS4 to VMAX as now I've done 193 in doug's S4, it would be an anti climax!!

LOL, you've got the VMax bug. Seriously well done Doug, Nice to see you you and your clan. I had a feeling that you'd open a few eyes by the end of the day.

Looks like I was doing 6600 when i went through the beams, just need a bit more power (and skinnier tyres and a narrow body kit!) :)

Don't know if you did any VAG-Com logs, I just did one to see what IAT's I was getting, peaked at 55. Looks like I need that FMIC.

Well done Doug, excellent work. I'd have loved to have see the face on the Murci driver after your car whipped him (twice)

Nice one Dave  Graham you must now make that return visit

I can't see why GPS will lag more at higher speeds ? they use on aircraft don't they ?

The B5 RS4's did the brand proud & the B7's are super fast in the context of what else was there, its hard to imagine that they make less than the stated power. Excellent.

Doug it will go faster if you take the wing off too :)

@David: GPS lags because most units out there are 1Hz units, which means 1 sample/sec. A 5Hz unit wouldn't lag at all in comparison, but unless you set the cruise control for at least 10 seconds at 193mph, a GPS unit will always display below your real speed until it "catches up".
