Springfield is probably right - you have to get really arsey to get things done.
My A4 has got some paint left on the boot. Thankfully the S4 is mint.

Anyone made any claims recently on these boot trims?

I have a small amount of rust on the trim which seems to have moved on the boot also. I also have a bubble on one of the little triangles on a rear door and the seal running along the top of the rear window seems to be bubbling at the ends... :(

I had little bubbles appearing under the paint on my boot trim. I went to my local Audi dealer (John Fox). At first they weren't having none of it. So i went a bit mad going on about the so called 12 year anti corrosion warranty etc.... I had to book my car in so there body shop man could come and look at it. Anyway after it was inspected it was booked in and sorted for me under warranty.

Like Dazzer said "you have to go a bit mad" or very mad if you like
It pays off in the end.
Hmmm, its fast but is it fast enough!!!

Anyone just tried rubbing down the original part and re-painting? If Audi won't play ball.

Replaced my trim last week when I fitted my roof spoiler. Had taken it to Camberley Audi but they told me it wasn't covered by the anti-corrosion waranty because it was caused by water getting behind the paint on the trim panel and causing the paint work to bubble (top corners either side). Neither was it covered by the paint work waranty.
Gave up protesting in the end as no-one made any sense and I was going round in too many circles!!

How much was the trim?

I think I'll give up now chasing Audi, it was Camberley I was going to ask but I think I'll save on stress and just get a mate with a body shop the work to fix it

As my car is a personal import, even though it has the same bodywork warranty as UK cars I never bothered trying to claim. These tales prove that I was right.

I can't remember the cost of the trim, but I think it was about 70 quid from VAGparts. Martins in Basingstoke charged me about 100 quid to paint it. I fitted it myself. Don't forget to buy a new gasket.

Is the trim made of metal?

Yes,trim is made of metal and cost around £59.

I would've thought you had a case to present though, Mark, if the rust is now spreading to the boot-lid. The guy that fitted mine said that it was very close to moving upwards to the boot, and that it was definately a corrosion issue.

I'll book it in a see what they say. I might try Guildford Audi as I have heard people getting it done there...
