i think i know what you mean spen.....
when i first had the S4 i wasn't sure that i could live with a V6 twin turbo AND keep a clean liscence
you just cant get enough of the woooosh feeling but we all know that the bug bites hard...
i cant imagine life without turbos now and linear throttle response on N/A cars would feel flat even on a quick car.

its all about taste.

With such power, grip and acceleration who can keep up? What are the standard injectors good for, I heard about 350- 360 bhp! What does that work out to, 1.4bar boost? What is that down to at redline?

Standard K04's. Non-standard N75
And how long does one expect ones blowers to last at 26/27 psi - assuming you make good and regular use of such delirious boost 8)

The timing gear does show a difference between 21 psi, 24 and 26 psi at redline. It's over half a second to 60 mph.

Things that keep up: bikes, the ones which weren't surprised. If I get the jump on a bike off the line they don't usually come past. If they are ready for a race off the line then it's anyone's game. Most bikers see an a4 and don't realise that they need a good launch, then wham, I'm 50meters away and they've not even opened up yet.

I've ran 28 peak, down to 26 for a while. It now seems to have settled at 26psi flat from 3000 rpm.

I had the turbos off last week and they seem fine. I only use max boost in every gear though :jump:

I think the wooded-one is making his comment to Blower (re: the much vaunted "race" between them .... that hasn't actually taken place yet! )

Am I right?

I can remember getting mine back from Doug, tyres were quite smooth .... but still legal .....
first few times i nailed it in 1st/2nd it lost any sense of grip and launched itself (mostly) sideways ..... not alot to be done at that point in time ..... except go fvck ...... i like it ... alot .... :rocker:
not interested in losing grip in any other gear ....... all I see is a large bill $$$$$$$$ :nodder:
happy dayz .... party ....

Almost, but when they die then I have an excuse for some rs6s or k16s. :nodder: I just have to help them burn their life a little shorter and brighter than normal.

rolskii, I was like you but leaving massive clouds of disrespectful 3rd gear tyre smoke was absolutely awesome. I'm not helping my resale value am I?

I did 330HP -> 500HP

In my car the "kick" does not seem any more impressive as the K04's apparently do not give this. Even petrol head mates got in the car before and after and they did not notice a difference.

The real difference is the power KEEPS coming. You see power curves of a 440ish K04 car and you see they last to 6kish and start to drop, and on the 500ish HP cars with Tubular Manifolds, FMIC etc the power curve climbs straight to red line @ over 7k :D

Fuel consumption...

Before (MTM Chip)

Around town - 180 miles to a tank
Motorway - 350 miles to a tank

After

Around town - 180 miles to a tank
Motorway - 250 miles to a tank

So most of my driving around town has not changed how much fuel I use. On the open road though I have been stung - which is a shame, but I cant really complain.
