I'll give MRC a call, is it far from Brungtingthorpe?
About 50 miles apart I think

I would have to disagree with the lads on this one. I am running H&R coilovers with H&R ARB's and the ride is BLODDY hard. I am also running 19's. Im not complaining cos i love the way it handles and like a hard ride but its my car and not for the familys and only used at weekends. Just my 5p's worth.

My H&R coilovers used to be a bit too harsh especially after having test driven two S4's fitted with the same kit and being pleased with the ride & handling, I then had the height raised by 5mm just to help clear the speed bumps at work.
My S4 now feels as good as the ones I test drove, supple at low speeds around town and very assured at higher speeds on A/B roads - certainly not harsh.
I'm running 18" Oz Superleggera's with Y-rated Toyo T1-S's [225 - 40 - 18].

You'd be best to ask folks on the forum if they'll take you for a spin in their S4's, you can get an idea for yourself.

You see my problem is i'm in Ireland and trying to find someone with an S4 never mind a tuned one is difficult. If i was only doing 100 miles at the weekend i wouldn't mind it being too hard but some weeks i could do 500 miles. Also the b roads in the south of Ireland are not suited to really hard suspension.
I'm just going to have to go to RS246 live and maybe take a spin in some of ye're cars

A good compromise would be Eibach ProDampers with ProKit springs and if you add the Eibach or H&R anti-roll bars too you'd have yourself a very competent chassis setup for fast road fun.

I raised mine recently about 5mm too.... much nicer ride, no bump steer and clears the island speedbumps,
got h&rs,h&r arbs & solid rear links with 235/40/18 pilot ps2s' .... running the body too low is detrimental to handling ... much comfier too ... but hardly any roll and understeers out....
happy dayz .... party ....

The ride height most people settle on is 25.5" all round, maybe slightly higher at the rear, by all accounts you should not go below 25", if you do you run into all sorts of problems with the behavior of the suspension design, geometry, bump steer , tracking etc.

Even a few mm change all round can make a hell of a difference to the feel, I would have a go at changing the height yourself, but as I say most peeps after trying different heights seem to have settled on 25.5" or very slightly higher.
