i reckon u shud all cut a slot into your bonnets and use the OEM air feed ducting and also put the cheese holed airbox back to standard...
then compare filters...your arse has a slot and only 1 hole and the air flows fine so i dnt see why your cars wont...PMSL.....
seriously though i have thought about this for a while and if u have a standard untouched air box you can run an air feed into the bottom of it from the front IC grill area..
if you take out a headlight you will see the space and make it fit into the bottom of it feeding in cold air..
IT WILL WORK...cold air into bottom of airbox...nice..

where u get the ITG Julian ?

I had one on a Saab and oftten thought that the none oiled foam would be the best air filter.

will it fit in the airbox ?

cheers

Got it from MotorSportWorld Kieran (google them for their site) - yep: perfect fit in the airbox (it's listed on the site as being for a B5 RS4 IIRC ... )

£48 all in (incl. VAT and p&p)

definitely agree on the idea of foam being the best material for drawing air through. :sekret:

Errr Woody are you serious mate :?:

Take an air feed that close to the ground and feed it into your engine bypassing the air filter - I hope I am misunderstanding you here. :?:

i think you miss understand..
firstly cutting the living life out of the bottom of your airbox is alot more drastic than what im talking about..
your airfilter sits between the top and bottom of the airbox..so an airfeed thats made into the bottom of the airbox will have to go through the filter...filtered air..
now if you remove the IC grill you can have a feed that sits just behind the grill to 1 side and fed into the airbox..
you shouldn't distrupt the IC from getting an air flow cos your taking it from the air going into that area..

the white circle is where im talking about to put in the air feed..below the airfilter..not exactly at that point but a ref to where i mean...
the IC pipe is in the way but i managed to get a flexi pipe up to this point to feed the airbox from the IC grill area..
you could also have the feed lower dwn the box..

Julian-the only relevant ITG panel filter i can find on the MSW site is for 'A4 all models inc. S4'. Is this the right one? :?

Whatever - just found the invoice and the part number is ITG-WB-447

I'm definately NOT undecided about the upgrade dude, just waiting for a convenient moment to part with the appropriate notes required!! Would love a blast in yours though if you're about. :beerchug:

Going to do the KO4s, injectors, pump and B7 RS4 brakes as a start-the FMIC I don't think will be allowed to be mentioned this year. :bigblink:
