I'm sure the FQ340 driver expected to leave you for dead, but in the end had to wring every last bhp out of his car!
You gonna be ready for a remap next month then Nick?
I think Nick needs more than a remap to take the FQ340 - a set of K04's might help - the S4 is quite a bit heavier than the Mitsu, and there's no point in edging ahead by 1 car length - you need to blast past and make him think his car's not running right!

p.s. there's always something quicker than you on the road!

Nothing wrong with servicing the car every 3-4k, i change my oil that often.

Cheers,
Yes mate - needs doing, this S4 feels dog slow compared to my old one.

Just raiding the copper jar to pay for it all ;-)

I had a blast with an FQ340. Im at 337 bhp. He was pretty quick from the lights to about 60 but once in third gear I caught him up slowly and went past dead slowly.

I was quite surprised. I thought those things were fast.

Then again had a blast with an fq-400. Forget it. That ust left me for dust. Thats one quick car. Big difference to an fq340.

Prob with the FQ400 is the turbo lag, hence Clarkson's 6th gear pull from 2k revs against a punto in top that stayed ahead for far too long, it was comical. The Fq360 is the one to fear, 0-60 3.9 secs but not sure of the 100 time. That's where we make it up with our amount of torque. Doug reckons S4TAN's is pushing near 500ft/lbs and we ALL know Julian's full of torque....

Yes ...as a few have mentioned about torque etc. the A-B speed is not ALL about power. However the Evo's do have a weight advantage.... which also helps around corners...
The bloke with the (allegedly) 500+ bhp Evo 7 has changed loads of stuff...its also not a 2.0 any more (2.3 ish now). He has done all the work himself, but I bet it would have cost him between 10-15k if a specialist would have done it.
His brothers 380 bhp Evo 6 TME has had some internal work done also so not just boost juicing!...It goes very quick, but sounds like you are in the middle of some thrash metal nightclub next to a jet engine when he steps on the peddle hard (to get the revs up ..a lot.. as required)...plus it has a big wing on the back to attract the Feds oh and a 5" anus!!!

When the chaps on here have got shut of the modified S4's and bought Porsches (proper ones) has any commneted how much quicker the Porsche is or isn't???

I took on a 996 turbo with the X50 kit, he did not know the road so I can only go with his accelration, which, I was catching him on.

I also played with a GT3 RS on Sunday, on a straight drag race from around 20 to 120 ish I was able to pass him, so, whats that, 3 car length or something? again, if the driver knew the road better I dare say he might have done better on the corners than me ...
