Part Number help needed please. 2001.5 intake manifold
Nigel and Saf as I said get over to AW and give it a search, I will give you a head start with this one...

In the AW poster's second post you can see the welding I mentioned:

Thanks, but I am still not sure what is involved.
- forget the porting and polishing etc, what did Audi change on the rest of the hoses to get the new manifold to work, these links look like they are keeping the f-hose? ?
- If u fit the new manifold why would you want to modify it, can't you just make the engine hoses right to fit it and loose the f-hose?
- I am sorry but I still don't understand, new manifold + what do you need to fit it is the question? All the pipes on the back are there for what?, why would you blank them off?
Sorry, but all the stuff I have read on this looks like you convert the new F-hose free manifold back to an F-hose one??
Am I being thick, why buy it, just get the allroad one and don't bother with the welding?

I have just spent an hour on AW forums, but no luck, I still can't get the hang of their layout. In any case they don't cover the conversion to non f-hose, except for the pic of the welded closed off pipes - which I have no idea wher or what it is.
Back to my questions above. Can somebody please answer them.

Hi Mark,
Sorry for the delay, it seems all my little "projects" take bloody ages!, anyway been away, but I have the BC now, just playing about with an APR fueling setup so was waiting to do the rs4 injectors at the same time as the inlet, but I think I might just stick it on anyway as it's taking too long.
The BC connections look fine, I will see what my audi parts guy has in his hoses to get some to fit.
It does give an extra connection for my f-hose mod and should make it neater as no t-piece needed, and it will be a bigger diameter dedicated connection of its own similar to the front f-hose one. I think it will work out well.
Just have to investigate the right hoses and get some part numbers. I need one from the f-hose bleed valve to the inlet and maybe a new one for the servo connection to inlet.
Will post some pics soon.

I have got the parts together now, I looked at the hose connections and wanted options on sizes so I didn't want to weld up the big pair on the back of the BC as others have done.

So I looked about and came up with this...
Cut off the 2 large connections on the BC, then they are just the right size to tap them to 3/8 BSP and fit screw in fittings with various options of size and / or blanking plugs.

I can now connect the brake vaccume hose to one and F-hose delete output to the other.
If you are replacing the stock manifold I think this gives a much more flexible approach, you can keep all of the connections stock by simply blanking off one hole with a threaded plug shown, and connect the brake servo to the other with the 1/2" adapter shown. Easy, no welding etc., tapping the holes took about 20 mins and the parts cost about £10.
Out of interest here is the inside finish on the BC... and front view.

Hi Mark,
The original ones on the BC are large, too big for any standard hoses, I looked into geting the Audi hoses but this is cheaper and much better as it gives the option of easily changing the fitting diameter or screwing in a cap to block them off.
Yep they are smaller, they are 1/2" barb connectors, with 1/4" BSP threaded ends.
(Screwed into 3/8 BSP to 1/4 adapters and those screwed into the manifold). I tried to find straight 3/8"BSP to 1/2" barbs but no luck. and this way you don't have to keep screwing in and out of the alloy manifold to change fittings, I am going to loctite in the 1/2 to 1/4 adapters.
It means I can use straight hose to the F-hose delete one way valve (1/2" end) and to the brake vacuum hose (1/2").
They are a mixture of pressure pipe fittings for compressed air lines and the 1/2" barbs are actually from PC water cooling fittings!
