sorry on the mix match of tuners, I was just so impressed with Autops on the last build, they offered a price and stuck to it, even though the build was a night mare. The have quoted £1300 to transplant the rs4 engine gearbox and diff in to my S4, it will be around £600 to rebuild the engine and fit the new clutch. Everyone know's Doug and Minhea are hands down the best when it comes to the S4 ecu tunning I don't doubt they're mechanics are great too its just that I like Autops approach they know me and my car.

The only hold ups where AutoSpeedPerformance not sending the correct exhaust clamps to AutoPS, Autops where able to source the specialist clamps in the UK. This took some time but AutoPS got it sorted before the clamps turned up from the US. They just seem to do that bit extra.

At the same time they sorted a host of issues caused by a dodgy garage fitting the engine with no understanding.

I can vouch for APS too - i've been there a couple of times (only for wheel alignment) but had a good chat with the guys both times about the B5 S4 and they definitely know their stuff, i've watched them working on customers' cars and they're very meticulous about what they do. If i didn't go to MRC for my work (easy as i live in the same town) I would definitely go to APS ...

EXACTLY the same predicamentas me.

My S4 came with an AMD map that was done back in 1999 when the car was new.

I'd love to try an MRC map too, but I can't justify the expense yet either.

I think I need a ride in an MRC one though.

I could justify the expense of an MRC remap, but I know that I'd actually come out with a remap and RS4 turbos, so I need to keep temptation at bay!

Go for it. The sooner you do it, the more time you have to enjoy it, assuming you plan to do it anyway?
