fantastic place. definetely get all my tyres from there now - cheap + knowledgable + very fast.

but anyway, was told technically with the 225/40R18 tyres I had on my new wheels, I was bordering on being illegal...so putting 235/40R18 which I wanted (and was the motivating reason behind changing the wheels), would be very so. Which I didn't want to do.

It was also pointed out they were rubbing slightly, so I ended up just changing back to the standard wheels.

sigh.

Thats a shame..... I am running 8.5x18, eta 35, booted @235/40/18 ... dunlops, only thing can be your spacers on the front pushing you out too much.
You could raise it slighty another 5-10mm, get some heavier ARB's, stop it diving in corners as quickly.....? a thought ...

its gonna be raised another few mm at the next service..

arbs are on the agenda, need them before the end of may I reckon.

I can't go without spacers on the front, as they hit the brakes, and I'd rather have good brakes than pimp wheels.

thing which I have at the back of my mind right now is:

£460 for 4 Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2s (225/45/R17 94W), fitted balanced + tracked.

vs
£680 for 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (235/40/R18 95Y), fitted balanced+ tracked

I know they're not quite the same tyre (can't get the PS2 in an extra load rating in 17"), but they peform quite similarly, and I get through a set of tyres every 6 months or so.

anyone got any pics of black wheels on their S4?

fingers crossed, i'm getting my noggy blue s4 avant at easter, but its having standard 17 inch wheels put back on it, and i'm looking to get some nice 18's for it, but i wondered if anyone had any pics of black wheels rather than shiney silver......not seen any with black wheels and i have very little artistic vision to be able to visualise stuff like this, so i wondered if anyone had any pics with a black wheel like this fitted;

MTMs Littleblue - they have an RS4 look about them and are very tasteful - but they're not cheap if you're buying new.
