Going with a mate who is looking to buy a M3, so he can boast he has a faster car, etc (he had a 325I before and was a tad miffed when the S4 went passed him easily on the M20), but he dosn't realise i'll being taking a trip to the MRC boys before we go to the nurb  ....it would be nice to arrange it for the same day as the forum (BTW when is it?), just to see his face when we turn up and its bumper to bumper tuned Audis

hehe
No offence, but the ring is a dangerous place and not a trackday, at least not on tourist driving days. Most people who try to drive it fast and out-do each other end up in the wall, sometimes taking others with them.

I used to have Pirellis. ESP often came on when stock, common after the remap. I will never have Pirellis on a performance car again.

The bespoke Pirellis on the new RS4 B7 may change yer mind like they did mine about the brand but then again any tyre just out the warpper is gonna perform well s'pose!

Yes the Perelli rosso's on the new RS4 did perform better than the original P-zeros on the B5 RS4 no tramlining that i notice and the road was wet and it was getting chucked into corners with not a peep out of the esp but as you say harry new tryes should be good for thwe first few thousand miles??

You need 500 miles on a set of tyres before they are at their best.

With tyres a lot depends on what they were developed to work with. You can bet Audi took no chances with the RS4.
