Can anyone confirm if this works in a DBW S4 ?

Rev the engine to 2K, push the throttle. If the revs drop to idle its DBW.

Just had a look at VAG-Parts.com and found 2 different Cruise Ctl Stalks
I think the 8L0 953 513 J £31.51+vat will fit my earily 99 S4
they also sell Cruise Partial Wiring Loom 1J0971425 £14.78+vat

must check if i have Drive by wire first!

cheers!

I've got cruise retrofitted to my 98 S4 avant. Had the dealer fit the stalk after buying it from vagparts - didn't fancy the air bag going off in my face :) - best thing I could have bought for it!

Morpheous - can you explain the wiring bit please? I bought a stalk from Audi and got close to fitting it but the std wiring loom does not contain the connections so its not that straight forward I don't think. I was under the impression that as there is no wiring plug in the loom you either have to know what wires connect to what pins on the stalk or you need to know how to hard wire it into the ECU....

If you can come up with what pins goto what wires, you are onto something big, I would certainly pay for the information.....

As I understand it, the switch has a connector, onto that connector goes the loom and then the six connections from the stalk go to the main connector. These are pushed into the existing connector. Haven't found which ones go where yet.

If you have ESP you need to recalibrate the ESP sensor after removing it to retrofit the cruise stalk. Details on VAG com forum on Audiworld fro recalibration.

Here is what my web surfing has turned up:

http://www.christiantena.pwp.blueyonder ... i/ccs.html

Instructions are from a B5 Passat but it does look like the VAG cars have a black four way plug ready to accept the cruise control connection. I am not sure if the cruise stalk connects directly to this, or if you need a short harness.

Yes I can help with the wiring, bit tied up at the mo but will post the info soon, The White plug in the Ebox will have the wires already fitted going to the ECU, you will need to connect into this plug from the underside. If I remember correctly, you will need special pins for this white connector, as it happens, the engine ECU plug has spare ones of these fitted which are uncrimped and can easily be removed and fitted to the loom you make up.
The switch end has a black plug fitted to arrow correct fitting, I removed all the origional wiring from my old S4 and fitted it to Sitas3s' car,
If you like, I can give you the plug/Pin numbers when I get back to work Tues onwards.
I would have thought the VAG parts loom would come with all these parts.
but if not, I will let you know, and where they need connecting to.

Hi, the Ebox is just what we call the housing for the ecu. Its a sealed plastic box by the battery.
Later cars have relays, and fuses in here also.
I will post the info when I have more time, last few days has been manic.
Sorry for the wait.
