Short-shifter advice?

I fitted it all by myself
Words of advice: Follow instructions on the site, and definitely don't do it in the dark. Took a little longer than expected when the only screwdriver with the correct pieces started turning inside its own handle... so it went dark during my install. Also, I know it says this also, but don't lose any of the nuts you take off. I wasn't prepared for it to fall away from me quite so suddenly when the shifter drops down, so the final nut went flying. Never did find it so spent about an hour finding a replacement.
My shifter is the old style with the white bit (I think all the UK cars are, but I may be wrong).
That's about it, it really isn't too hard, the instructions are pretty good.
