Since Olly K bought it up - my number one gripe with AMD is that they should have at least a glass door so you could see the mechanics at work, like all the audi dealers have that I visit. Thats why I hate the waiting room, on occason I have sat there for a whole day - and not being able to see whats going on is very frustrating.

Go on Thorney, you know it makes sense ;)

As I said earlier in the thread, I'm happy to try an help if anyone needs it?
Thorney,

Taking the posts on here as a 'straw poll', it is clear that AmD have good expertise and poor customer service. It is ironic that becoming recognised for expertise is difficult, but becoming recognised for customer service is quite easy. If AmD were to become even average in customer service then as a company they would benefit more.

Now that Audi seem to be moving away from turbochargers, the 'quick-fix' approach to performance gains on these cars will be limited. I think people will need more incentive to bring their cars to AmD.

What I really would like to hear is that AmD are aware of their shortcomings in customer service and are doing something about it. Perhaps you can help by finding out if this is true or not.

Oh with hand on heart AmD really are concerned over the customer service reputation. Part of this is still due to staffing, where they simply need at least one more person (especially when people are on holiday/ill)

However at the moment there is major building work going on with the new building next door. The concept is a complete new shop, massive waiting area with separate rooms for internet access (so you could literally work there without issue) and cctv screen to show the workshop and RR room. The glass wall issue can't happen because the workshop is separated from the waiting room by three other rooms so cctv screens are next best thing. Some of the plkans are sitll in flux but needless to say there is a big investment going on to ensure the feel good factor matches the technical one.

Sounds good Thorney. When is it due for completion so I can plan my next visit?
