Got my car back after having the inlet air temperature sensor replaced, cost me £205. The sensor had not actually failed, the wiring on the sensor was damaged. I had a look at it and it looks as though it had become trapped.

Can you tell me where in the enginebay the IAT is?

Although the IAT itself is under the intake manifold at the front, it's connector is very close to the drivers side DV, so that connection can be made for testing. I can imagine this connector getting in the way during a cam belt change, and maybe it got yanked enough to damage the wiring at the sensor.
