Buying an S4

Post by 20585 » Thu Dec 08, 2005 6:32 pm

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help. I will be buying an S4 but I am unsure whether I should purchase the car before the new year, given possible depriciation. Should I hang on till the new year when prices may fall due to the new registration plate?

I would appreciate any advice

Tom

Tom, Welcome.

You're in the wrong forum - Crew, can someone move this please? (and please credit the S4 forum with all the posts!)

There's lots of advise on here regarding purchasing, and dont forget the Buyers Guide on here.

As for waiting for the New Year, I dont think that will make much difference, and I certainly don't think the next registration plate change will depress prices significantly as this model isnt made any more.

More importantly, if you think you've found the right car for you and are happy with the price (now), then go for it. These cars are not rare and there's still plenty of them out there but if you have certain preferences it's not always easy to tick all the boxes.

I agree that they arnt rare cars but trying to find a mint one with the right spec is proving to be a right nightmare for me. I'm trying to find one with all the toys but thats also proving difficult so if you do find the right one for you then snap it up quick.

I'm also guessing that now is a better time to buy as sellers may want the wad of notes for xmas!

Happy hunting

Are you talking about the B5 or B6/B7.
If it's the B5 then I don't see current used prices changing as a result of registrations for the B7.
If it's the B6/B7 then I'll move this post.
