Whistling sound from both drivers and passenger door windows

This occurs at around 60 mph and is very annoying.
Is it a common problem, i have checked the window guides for obstructions and there are none, can it be that the seals are needing replaced, if so is this expensive?
I noticed that the top corner window seals (suede like material)are a bit worn.

I get this on my B5 1.9TDi saloon, it makes you think that the door isn't shut properly or the windows is slighlty open. No obvious signs of what is causing it, I have just learnt to live with it.

it doesn't take much to make a noise. even a 5mm lip will result in a whistle. Consult with a couple of bodyshops before you buy anything.

Havn't noticed any on mine at such a low speed. Might just be going deaf though! Anyone else?

Here are a few thoughts:

Lots of adjustments possible on door and window frame, try pulling the top of the window frame in towards you when it does it, you are looking for a noise change.
If no good, try wedging your finger (or small cloth) against the glass and the frame near the area to see if noise reduces stops. What you need to find out first is exactly where the noise is comming from.Then look at that area for damage, mis alignment, or ill filling rubber.
Has the window/ window regulator/door hinge or door frame been repaired or removed recently? Has the noise just started? if so what is different? Has someone bumped the car?
Newer cars have styrine packing around the front and rear of the door frame which can drop out when the door card is removed, these are fitted to help reduce this problem.
It may just need adjusting in towards the seal, the RS4 has additional bracing in the door frame to help reduce windnoise at higher speeds.
I don't advise adjusting it yourself, as you change one setting, you have three others you could upset.

I'd guess that maybe the door has worn the hinge pins a bit and is now sagging a bit...I had this on my S4 drivers door....you can actually see the door drop a touch when you open the door, and the door won't close as well as it should.

The noise I had came from the top rear of the door, you could stop it by grasping the doorframe and pulling inwards - this made the seal good.

I think you can get the hinge pins replaced...its happened to my RS4 too, although to a lesser extent.

Is this a costly repair job to get the pins replaced?

I replaced the whole lower hinge on my old car, not due to noise, but due to a very stiff door action.
Water had penertrated the door pin bearing surface over the years, causing it to seize.
Bought a new lower hinge for £24.19 and dropped the body shop £10 to spray it. Can't see only the pins being too expensive. Mind you it was cost price.

Shouldn't think so matey...I think I read about it in an S4 buyers guide that it was a pretty common thing...
