AFAIK, blue printing does allow a turbo to give more torque, but you need to think about the WAY in which it produces that torque.

Most people think about peak figures all the time (as you do yourself Simon!), and this is misleading. To illustrate my point you car developed a peak of 426 lbft. My car developed a peak of 413 lbft and I have OEM K03 turbos!

You must always think about the torque curve. This is fundamentally driven by the boost curve (vs revs), which is determined by turbo efficiency. Blueprinting should allow the turbo to produce greater boost in some, if not all, parts of the range.

Of course someone correct me if I'm writing BS
I quite agree! :)

I quoted peak figures as even though the torque courve is very flat it has a high point somewhere! I couldn't remember at what revs the peak was other than that it was around the 3,250rpm mark. The point I was failing/trying to make was that the torque is high and available at fairly low revs improving the driveability, meanwhile the bhp has been increased. Oh well!

In practical terms, I have driven two standard RS4's and the K04 conversion on the S4 is more driveable in everyday situations even though the peak (done it again!) bhp is similar. Perhaps I should have said that the peak figures are more of interest when seen on a graph.
Maybe it's a male obsession with peaks and curves?!

Having had a fab drive yesterday on the A24, I was reminded as to how rapid and sure-footed these cars are - even after owning it for nearly six years!

Go with the complete kit. Save the money, and then change it. You will save on labor and time. Stage 1 is too basic and in a few months you will "need" more.
If you live in Britain, I would suggest that you buy this kit in the US, cause it is cheaper. And I would def. use the hybrids that Buehn engeniering is offering.
And then, use the MTM programing or even try REVO.

Be aware, you soon will need more breaking power, better suspensions etc. I spent 17 K on my car to mod it, and for that money, I could have bought an RS 4.
And in the end, no one gives you back that money....

Apart from that, the car is really nice, low profile, fast, and reliable.

Best Wishes
