My wheels were bought on ebay from a bloke in Germany. The cost including postage and bank transfer charges was about £860. The wheels and tyres are brand new. When I enquired to AMD they offered me a set at £1,200+VAT.

My old tyres deperately needed replaced and the 17" wheels were in need of refurb - one was especially badly corroded. The original plan was to have the wheels refurbished but when I looked into getting them done properly, I was quoted £90/wheel refurb costs with the car off the road for 7 - 10 days. Hopefully by the time I sell my old wheels it will have worked out to not much more than the cost of new tyres on the old wheels. I did have an interested buyer lined up for the old wheels but he's just been made redundant.

They are actually S8 wheels, quite rare.

There's a couple of auctions for S8 wheels on eBay at the moment. Are S8 wheels really rare?
