Okay, have spoken to Keith @ Dialynx and after removing all hoses from the pressure side :( and found no leaks 8) , they think (as I do) that Revo increases boost to 1.2 bar or in short spurts - 1.4 bar, then it settles back down to 1.2. I should in no way be getting 1.6 bar. It appears that the N75 valve is doing all sorts of things with the boost. The trial Revo version has expired so I've done a few runs and found the the boost is still all over the place. Sometimes I'm getting 1.3 bar when the ECU wants 1.8 and other times I'm getting 1.9 when the ECU wants 1.5. I have ordered a new N75 from VAGParts and once that arrives and is fitted I'll see whats going on. Dialynx will then install Revo permanently. Another small issue I had was that the TBB kept blowing off when Revo software was running at silly boost levels. Has anyone had Revo fitted and found this to happen (on normal Revo boost levels)? If so, what is the fix?

Rob,
My S4 has exactly the same symptons and it has no mods (as far as I'm aware).
It's going into the garage tomorrow so I'll let you know what the problem is on a "standard car".
Cheers, Clive

Rob

I have the same issue on my car although I purchased the upgrade. Ive had lengthy (angry) discussions with Revo and they have tried hard to resolve the issues. Apparantly the story goes the upgrade on the 2.7 is very aggresive in terms of boost - any leaks in the system will cause over boosting and the hiccup you mention.

I have it at exaclty the same place - 4k rpm - Revo have a less aggresive programme which they uploaded to my car and gave me a SP3 to control the boost settings to see if I could stop the issue - on reduced boost you remove the hiccup.

I have yet to replace the DV and check if this is the culprit (their suggested issue) or somewhere else on the system - once Ive dont this I will wind the boost up again and see if its gone. If this is the problem Revo have stated they will reupload the more aggresive porgramme for me.

Sorry its not more scientific but hope shares what I have got from the Revo guys.

Allblack, that's great info, thanks. I replaced my DV's for stratospheres about 2 months back and have now replaced all my DV pipework. I took all the pressure pipe's off the turbo side and found no leaks so have put the car back together again and it runs fine but the trial software has expired now. I did notice that the car seemed to be overboosting even without trial software, she would run 1.9bar and maintain it even though the ECU was asking for 1.8. I've ordered a new N75 valve in case this was sluggish to respond and when that comes on Friday, Dialynx are going to re-install the trail software again. And we can take it from there. I may revert to std DV's and see what differance that makes with the trial revo. Give me a shout if you find anything and I'll do the same...thanks again.

Based on the info I've seen in this thread, I don't see that the Revo code is any more aggressive than AmD's.

Allblack - changed my N75 valve and boost is now maintained properly. Have not been able to get upto Dialynx to get full Revo installed though as am reluctant to do this until I'm sure she won't start jumping again - I use the car daily to do 100 milles and can't afford to have the car being unrelaibale during that time. How did you get on with yours?

ive been slack - been working on my track day car and neglected the S4 - do you think I should try the N75 first - whats the cost of the N75 valve - i think relacement DV's are pretty cheap from memory

N75 is about £35 (from VAG Parts), dead easy to change but you'll need some small jubilee clips to replace the crappy std ones.
