Broken Rear Suspension!

Post by S4RS4 » Tue Aug 31, 2004 12:11 pm

Oh dear - I appear to have broken the rear suspension link that connects the anti-roll bar to the main upright. I have not hit anything! I am running the 19mm Neuspeed roll bar on it's highest adjustment and was horsing it around Castle Combe at the time. anybody heard of this happening before - with or without uprated roll bars?

The plastic drop link?
You might be able to adapt a metal drop link from another car...You may run into problems with the mounting for the zenon hight sensor...
Off to the engineers to get some made up........

was the uplink rubbing on the rear driveshaft at all, wearing it away?

Giles, don't worry it's a common problem. Often as not it goes un-noticedtoo, the plastic links are shocking.

These should help you out:

Not sure but the bit I saw snapped lokked very much like metal to me! Will have to check. May get some of those adjustable ones - price depending!
