metallic rattle when moving from stationary - any ideas ?

I hear a slight metallic rattle when I'm moving off from stationary. The rattle seems to occur when declutching. Any ideas?

It's a May 99 S4 with 55k on the clock.

Sounds like the exhaust manifold heat sheild issue. This was a design issue that was fixed under warranty for most cars. To fix properly can be expensive (it took audi 4 days to do mine....)
