Greetings. First, I've loved the styling of Audi for years. But the mixed comments regarding reliability and general maintenance costs kept me from purchasing one. I've only owned one Euro-car, a Volvo. And I will never buy a Volvo again; what a nightmare.
I wanted to know how many DIY (Do It Yourself) S4 owners are out there? To be honest, I don't like others touching my cars, even dealers. And I don't make annually what most Audi owners make. I've always done all maintenance on my Nissans and Hondas myself: oil change, timing belt, etc. I just wanted to find out how difficult it is to work on the S4. Because it does not look too user friendly under the hood with the big 2.7 liter taking up a lot of room. Even with the turbo change, how many have taken on the task changing them out themselves even though engine removal is a must? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Newbie...good to be aboard
Aaron,
There are a few owners on here and other sites who do their own work, but then I believe that they are already in the business and so have access to workshop facilities.
I like to do as much work on my S4 as possible, but frankly all but the simplest of jobs require a lot of effort purely because there's so much engine in such a cramped space.
If you have the time and facilities then go for it...
