Miltek Exhaust - Dual or single ?

Comforting to know that I'm not alone in terms of the power tapering off and exhaust quieting down at hi revs.... A friend driving an RS4 with a Milltek downpipe seems convinced that the stock pipe and cats on my car are holding back airflow and revs esp on the hi end, a point echoed by Dippy's testimony. Which brings me to my question....

I'm looking at the MTM off the shelf chipping and milltek downpipe/cat as my next mods, and I'm deeply inclined to go with the former first as it appears to be the quick and easy way to extra HPs. Does anybody agree with my position? Counterpoints welcomed.

Reason for my choice of off the shelf MTM is because there just isnt anybody here (or within a 2000 mile radius for the matter) experienced enough to do any custom mapping, so it's too big a risk to go down that route.
