splendid. So this refers to 98 onwards cars?? hence why I didn't find the info due to me looking for differences between 2000 and 2001 model year cars!!!

even better, I think i've found the cause of my slightly increased turbo lag since having my K03 turbos replaced. There is an interesting thread on as.net with confirmation from Borg-warner that there have been some slight revisions to K03 turbos since 2000. My new K03 turbos were made in November 2003 so it is highly likely these feature the 'Larger' compressor wheels Borg-Warner refer to.

So, whilst Audi use the same part number for the turbos (with the exception of left/right designators) from 1997, you actually have to look at the K03 revision coding on the turbos themselves to see the version/revision! My old K03 turbos had K03-016 but these have been replaced with a later variant!
