I have got this knocking noise coming from the front-left suspension, but I have warranty direct policy which may cover it, do I...
a) Take it to their 'approved' repairer who probably knows nothing about Audi's and might do more harm than good. But doesn't require me to spend any of my own money.
OR
b) Take it to my local over-priced Audi garage, where it will cost me £50 whatever the outcome, and even if it is covered, they charge me first and I have to claim it back
Advice much appreciated

Mike
Dilemma
Re: Dilemma
I'm pretty sure your Audi dealer will do a free assessment for you.
Perhaps you can get an itemised quote from the dealer and decide from there ?

Have you already spoken to Warranty Direct about this problem?
I have just taken out a policy with them as it appears to be the best third party warranty available, but, they state that you have to agree to pay for any "investigative work" by whoever inspects the car.
The policy also states that "component failure" is covered whether wear and tear or otherwise.
Therefore, if it transpires that the fault is due to a worn bush or similar and it hasn't actually 'failed' your warranty may not cover the repair(and remember they also send engineers out to look at components).
If you haven't already spoken to W/D, I would take it to a specialist if available or stealer if not to see if you can get a diagnosis first.
I suppose the warranty wording is open to interpretation (ie what constitutes a 'failure'), but as with any insurance/warranty etc. they will always try to wriggle out of paying.
Just my 2p worth, but I hope you get a result as it bears well for future claims from me!!!
