stuttering engine - HELP!!

Post by daddyjohal » Fri Feb 27, 2004 9:20 pm

The strangest thing happened today. Driving my standard S4 home when i decided to floor it in second. It accelerated fine until it hit about 4000rpm and then all of a sudden it started jerking as if it was hitting a rev limiter. The ESP was left on as usual but the ESP indicator did not flash. The road was dry and clean. Fuel consumption is normal and the performance is fine otherwise. I've heard all sorts of problems with MAFs and F-hoses etc, but i have no idea what this one is caused by. It's a 2000V plate registered in March.

Help please!!

Thanks in advance guys.

First and cheapest possible cause is a faulty diverter valve. I can't remember how to test them but I'm sure someone will confirm.
