S4 how fast!!!!

Post by shamtec25 » Wed Feb 11, 2004 9:36 pm

I have had my S4 for about 4 months and all that time the car has not been running right.

After traipsing round Audi garages and getting no joy. AMD and the others are miles from where I live.

I found a local Audi Specialst who has now sorted it and I must say I am very impressed with the performance.

I did not know when I bought it but it has had an MTM ECU remap and a MTM exhaust, I think it is approx 340BHP???

Anyway having drove it now I am amazed at the speed. I expected it to be as quick as a M3 but it feels a lot faster.

I doubt there is much on the road that could keep up with it? Or I am I just getting carried away.

Thanks to all those that offered advice on this site. Finally a result.

Good for you

What fault(s) were diagnosed in the end ? and who fixed it for you ?

I'd say your car will be around 5 seconds to 60mph and low 13's/108 mph qtr mile. someone will confirm, I'm sure

I dont really know what the fix was, I think some valves and the main thing was a faulty induction pipe???

You'd better be careful with regard to your insurance as they will void your policy if they find out that it is chipped and you haven't told them...

How would they know and how much extra would you expect to pay?

I think you'll find that as far as the insurance co. is concerned, ignorance is no excuse. You own the car so it is your responsibilty to know what it is.

I'm simply playing the devils advocate...

After all, if you have an accident that, say, injures someone, then the insurance co. will start doing all they can to prove they have no liability. Then you get sued for an injury claim, and prosecuted for driving without insurance and insurance fraud.

I would say good luck to you, but having been the victim of such a thing I reckon you'd be better off owning up. You never know - they may let you have those mods for a small premium.

I'd say declare it as carps says.

I think they work on the percentage power increase but things tend to get much more expensive when you go over 22.5% IIRC

My insurer is Greenlight and they quoted me £ 150 p.a. for chipping my S4 a 50bhp increase.

Do a search in the insurance forum, there is plenty of info in there.

well actually it all depends in altitude and other factors, also the driver but for sure that it will not run low 13's i can stimate a high 13 and if the car has down pipes could possibly run a 13.5, trust me i run 12.5 on pump gas and is hard and now hopefully soon, ill run race fuel (110oct) and for sure brake 11's
