winter tyre question

Post by JohnS4 » Tue Nov 02, 2010 11:49 am

Hi I have a couple of spare wheels with winter tyres (exactly same size as the normal summer tyres) and am going to fit them to my S4 for the winter.

I know in an ideal situation I would have 4 fitted but the other two tyres are still in really good condition so I don't want to change them so is it best to fit the winter tyres to the front or back.

I know the fronts do most of the hard work braking and steering but I was wondering if the back might be better to avoid oversteer in wintry conditions.

Thanks,

John

If you have to then fit them to the front, but all the advice says never mix winter with summer tyres, there are some good youtube vids that prove why this is a bad idea. I know the cost is a pain but I've gone for 4 winter tyres for mine.
