Wheels

Post by Alex123 » Tue Oct 27, 2009 2:20 pm

Hi guys,

Having a bit of an issue with some RS4 reps. They’re 18 inch (ET35) purchased from Ebay about a year ago. I’ve been running 5mm universal spacers to clear the front brakes (standard) but I’ve recently learnt that these are a bit of a no no! I had tried the hubcentic 10mm type but these pushed the wheels out too far so I’m now back to the universal ones. My question is where can I get some decent spacers (not universal) to clear the front brakes? I have a set of B5 RS4 brakes to go on so will 5mm be enough to clear these?

My other option is to try and find some wheels which don’t require spacers at all. From what I’ve read, some MTM reps would do the job but I can’t seem to find anywhere which sells them. These are the ones I mean …

Many thanks in advance

interested to know what you ended up doing ?

I have an AMD bicester fitted big brake kit (porsche calipers) and the previous owner changed the original RS4 reps 18x8.0 (which didn't require spacers) for some wider 18x8.5 et35 wheels and used universal spacers, as they caught on the calipers and now they catch on the wheel arch liner.

I now want rid but have no idea what wheel offset to be looking at, I thought oriiginal rs4 repilcas were 18x8 et45, if so should any 18x8 et45 wheels fit ?

Cheers

mike
