Audi S4 b5 engine swap with RS4 b5 engine. need help!

Hi

I have an 1999 Audi S4, and i have a audi rs4 engine waiting on me , but its one thing i need to know before i buy it. i know its possible to swap the s4 engine with the rs4 one, but what is the difference, and what else do i need to buy? my biggest concern is the electric system. the rs4 engine has the ecu and the engine wiring. will it swap easy in to the car? have someone else done this?

I need help quickly, because i have told the guy with the rs4 engine that i will buy it if it swap in to my car withing reasons .

The audi is my daily driver, so everything need to work. and one more thing, i hope to use the OEM RS4 ECU .

and if you have any tips or toughs please share with me ..
i want 500hp, i now have 2 sets of rs4 turbos (4 K04 turbos) and i have a FMIC, Bigger exhaust and im going to buy new injectors soon. the rs4 turbos i want to send them to www.turbo.no so i can get rs6/hybrid turbos back, and maybe pay the difference. nothing is mounted on the S4 today, just waiting and saving stuff to I have it all .

It's been done a few times. One of the best examples out there is Viperbl's 730bhp S4 with an RS4 engine!

Is your S4 pre-facelift or post-facelift?

thx for answer! =). mine S4 has the facelift, but is pre the 400.000 chassis number. im new here, is Viperbl here on this formum? that would be great!! =). if it works out well i will post pictures of the build =). im getting exited !!!!!!!

He's either upto his neck in RS4 engine removal, or hooning around the IOM embarrasing bikers

My S4 has an RS4 engine in it. Goes rather well and is used as a daily driver. I spent 3 hours moving through solid London rushhour traffic last night (tube strikes - had to drive someone to Kings Cross) and the car performed flawlessly. Can't see why it would be any less reliable than an RS4 if done properly.

Might be best to give one of the tuners a call who do this regularly. MRC / Dialynx / Unit 20 etc. I'm sure if you catch them at the right time they might offer a few bits of advice.

dont bother with direlinx, ive had to sort out a few problems that were caused by them.

thx for all the answers . i was talking to mrc tuning today, they say that they use the old s4 ecu and engine wiring loom. so now its time to buy the rs4 engine. i will try to document it here with pictures on rs246.com.. but first its time to go on vacation before i begin to swap engine =).
