Hi all. This is my first post on the forum and unfortuneately its a sad one! for me.
I turned the ignition on this morning and noticed that DIS screen is blank. Nothing is displayed. I tried restarting the car but that didnt work. The DIS does diaply the "OK" on the top but when the car starts the screen ggoes blank.
Anyone got any ideas as to what this could be?

You have turned the display off, you need to turn it back on again.
The lever on the right hand side of the steering wheel (on LHD cars), which has a switch at the end to let you cycle the displayed information, also has a switch on the under side, this cycles DIS-Navigation-Off. just turn the display back on.

Hi Gav. Welcome to RS246
As Nordschliefe says, you have probably hit the button underneath the right hand stalk.
How long have you had the car?

Re: Driver Information System Has Vanished?
Hi guys.
I picked it up 2 weeks ago from an Audi sepcialist in Slough.
Inside is immaculate. Few little stone chips on the bonnet but what do you expect for 4 year old car? My golf that I partXed for it was only 1 year old and had more on it.
I'm just a little worried about the old trip computer cause its gone blank.
Another thing lads. The car is rapid; just wnated to know whether or not the turbos on the car initiate at different times. When i hammer it in 2nd say, it goes and then when it gets to around 4.5k it goes again, like as if the next turbo is kicking in?
Any advice would be well appreciated as i'm not to familiar with the Biturbo engine like I was with the 1.8T engine.
Cheers guys.

Re: Driver Information System Has Vanished?
The biturbo engine has the turbos in parallel: One is driven from the exhaust from the left 3 cylinders, and the other from the right 3. The forced air is then combined from the two turbos at the throttle body. Note that this join is by a flexible 'throttle body boot' (TBB) which is one of the weak points in the car. The advantage of this arrangement is that 2 smaller turbos are used (K03s) so lag is reduced. The downside is that there is an airflow limit to these turbos, which is why the power tails off at around 5500 rpm.
The engine also has simple variable valve timing. This is a simple switchover at around 4000rpm (IIRC but it could be higher), and I always used to notice it when I first had my car, although I thought it was a rather subtle 'extra boost'.
