19" Bentley wheel query

Post by just_say_meth » Mon May 18, 2009 11:26 pm

Hi Guys, will shortly be running Bentley wheels on my S4 but have a couple of queries.

So wheels are 19x9 all round et41 and thinking of 235/35/19 tyres. I have been advised to run a 3mm spacer up front and a 5mm out back making the offsets et38 front and et36 rear. If my calculations are correct??

1- Will I have much trouble with arch clearance up front?
2- If I have to roll the front arches can I keep the inner arches or is this a no go?
3- will the wheel/tyre combo above be alright for clearance with the brake flexi's and abs sensors etc?

Planning a subtle drop in suspension after my bank account recovers from the wheels  but nothing too lairy. Anyone have experience with a similar sized wheel etc would be great to hear if theres any downsides to 19's.

Drop Stapo69 a PM as he has these wheels fitted and his car is low.

I was running them on my RS, but if I can be of help, then let me know

I think with them being 9J wide, and ET41, they should be ok, and maybe as said you'll need 5mm spacers. You got to bear in mind that stock S4 wheels are something like 7.5J, whereas these are 9!

Tyre size needs to be 30 profile. I had 265/30/19 on mine, but you can get away with 255/30/19. Just gives you more tyre choice with 265, and also when I was looking I found 265's to be cheaper than 255's.

Drop should be possible.

Cheers guys, I'll drop stapo69 a pm, see how he's running them.

Virdee, why does the profile have to be 30? I know 35's will make the rolling radius slightly bigger but surely should affect it too much? I've test fitted the wheels and they are fairly tight, I don't think I'd get away with a 255/265 tyre. Guessing the wider arches on the RS helped this problem.

Oh right, yes true the wider arches helped me with the 265's

I guess you'd have to run a 225, or something thereabouts.

Profile has to be 30 to keep rolling radius the same, and speedo, etc.

Plus 35 profile on the 19's may hit the rear suspension arm.
