Another "how much is it worth" post..

Post by ajsl » Fri Feb 13, 2009 5:15 pm

The forthcoming arrival of child #3 means I'm going to have to sell my beloved S' as it's our only car - and despite my assurances the wife won't contemplate the idea of a roof rack for the new baby ;)

As I've been happy with the beast, I've not been keeping up with current prices. Any pointers on what prices I should be aiming for (spec below) would be appreciated.

Car
W reg (mid year 2000) face lift (old style badges, new dash, ESP etc) B5 S4 saloon. Mileage is around 65k miles.
Metallic silver, black leather interior, carbon fibre trim
Usual standard S4 options
Factory options: Recaro front and rear seats. (the fronts are heated and electric). boot spoiler, centre arm rest, ski bag, luggage net, (also had a CD changer but that's now been replaced - see below).

Mods
Remapped (at StarPerformance) since 6/10/06 giving 315bhp & 377lbft. @ 1.2 bar (dynoed on Star's rolling road)
Milltek dual 2.25" exhaust fitted 10/06 (fitted to standard S4 cats)
B5 RS4 front disks and pads fitted 06/07 (car was about 57k miles then)
H&R ARBs fitted (32mm front and 21mm rear bars). Fitted 06/07
VastPerformance short shifter fitted
VastPerformance metal F-hose fitted
710N BPVs fitted
After run pump mod fitted
Retrofitted rear ISO FIX brackets (two sets of brackets)

Cosmetic mods
Phatbox 60G (modded phatbox firmware) fitted
4 x 18" Avus B6 S4 wheels fitted (spare is standard 17")
CXI Enhanced FIS Unit (EFU 4U) fitted (shows boost etc in the DIS)
B5 RS4 grille (S4 badges)

Maintenance
New rear disks and pads fitted late last year
Cam belt, roller tensioner, relay roller, belt tensioning damper, tensioning lever, water pump, thermostat, auxiliary belt, auxiliary belt damper, changed 10/06
MAF replaced 10/06

Serviced at Audi and Starperformance, with the odd standard service done at "A for Audi".

It's got a few stone chips, a paint scrape on the rear bumper (from some anonymous individual :( ), and some scratches on the kerbside front alloy.

Somewhere between 5800 & 6500k depending on how quick you need to sell IMHO.

I would say more in the £7250 region due to low miles and spec

Hehe I'm in full agreement there, my older two (5 and 2) have been happily stuffed into the back of the car since they were born :) (hence the ISO fix retro fit etc). It's the arrival of my third child (who arrived on Sunday :) ) that is forcing me to sell.

The S4 is fine for 2 kids, (though prepare yourself for "DAD! stop zooming!" quite often from the rear seat ;) ) but there just isn't room in the rear seat for 3 child seats, and the middle rear belt is only a lap belt.

Thanks for the replies guys.
