wierd noise urgent advice / part numbers needed

Right got a bit of a strange one for you all.

As i may have mentioned in previous post, i bought a 99 s4 avant (pre facelift) recently.

Paid very little for her but there are many problems that i am working through slowly.

Since i have owned it there has always been a loud ticking noise coming from the o/side wheel arch.

Upon investigation today ( wing removed) i think i seem to have a bit missing. from the inner arch i have what looks like a 1.5 - 2 inch pipe extruding from possibly air box area.

Also the breather pipe to the fuel tank is popping up say 10 inces from the sill.

????

I can only assume that it is a purge valve / cannister.

Off topic slightly, my abs light comes on now and again but the brakes are 100% terrible all the time rear discs and pads were done quick for mot front discs are good but does need pads shortley but this cant be the reason why my brakes ae this bad surely.

probably a dairintake mod or a version of , where you cut a hole on the bottom of the airbox to let cold air from the wheel arch .

dont know about fuel breather.

brakes are <beep> when used with cheap ass pads and discs, mine had new discs and pads when i bought it and they were pure balls.

so does anyone have an idea what should be behind my driver side wheel arch??
